Football

Football is the most popular sport in the world and is played in almost every area all year round. It can be played in many forms such as eleven aside (which is the most well known and most played) and five aside a smaller version of the same game which is played in door or outdoors.



The panicle of all football tournaments is the World Cup which is hosted very four years by different countries around the world.  The first World Cup was held in Uruguay in 19.30 and was won by the hosts.  Brazil has the most World Cup wins with five altogether.  Only 6 other teams have every won the world cup during its history Italy, Germany, Argentina, Uruguay, England and France.  Players who play for their country will also play for a club side which does not always have to be their own country.  Players can play for a club anywhere in the world, a fashion that has increased over the last three decades with many players from South America choosing to play in the English, Italian, German and Spanish leagues respectively.



Real Madrid from Spain is currently the most successful European club side winning the European Cup (the biggest completion in Europe) a massive nine times.  To qualify for European completion the club must first finish at least 3rd or 4th in their own domestic leagues. Famous teams from Europe include Barcelona from Spain’s La Liga, A.C Milan and Inter Milan from Italy’s Seria A League, Bayern Munich from Germanys Bundersleague and Manchester United and Liverpool from the English Premier League.

One thing is for sure football is still becoming popular in areas that were dominated by other sports and doesn’t look like slowing down anytime soon.
