Skiing uses skis as it main part of equipment.  The skis are used with boots that are fixed to the skis with bindings.  Skiing is popular in Europe, Canada and the USA because of it many mountainous area. 



In Europe there are a multitude of ski resorts to choose form in Germany, France, Switzerland, Italy and Norway to name just a few.  Because skiing is possible in these countries all year round they tend to dominate the competitions along with the US and Canadian skiers.
